Food Resources for Parishioners in Need
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston continues to serve people in need during the COVID-19 pandemic through all of its programs. Food pantries are open for drive-through food distribution at three locations: Guadalupe Center in Houston; Mamie George Community Center in Richmond; Beacon of Hope Center in Galveston. Texans Recovering Together is a Crisis Counseling Program that offers crisis counseling, community outreach, local referrals and resources, linkage and psycho-education to individuals, families, and communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are here to ensure that all Texans affected in Harris County will regain a sense of normalcy and recover stronger than ever!
Who pays for services?
All services offered are free. The Crisis Counseling Program is funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency also known as (FEMA). FEMA is partnered with Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

To maximize food & household assistance needs for individual and family households, encourage those recently unemployed due to the Corona Virus Emergency to apply directly for unemployment benefits through the Texas Workforce Commission. This service is available seven days a week, 24hours a day. Or Call a Tele-Center at 800-939-6631 and speak to a customer service representative. **Assistance has been expanded from 26 weeks to 39 weeks. Maximum weekly amounts have been increased by $600 to further assist household with bills such as utility, car payments, rent & mortgage etc. •
